Neuromancer, The Movie: in theaters friday
Not really. At least not on the next one
BUT, I couldn’t believe when I saw this IMDB Neuromancer listing early today (empty, indeed, but it’s there).
Seems like the greatest ever Willian Gibson’s Neuromancer book will finally can be viewed at the bigscreen! But unfortunately, nothing was confirmed yet. Seems that this will be a production by the Seven Arts Pictures but they didn’t announced anything officially yet.
I was waiting for it for a long time as this is the most likely promising book to become a great movie, but after Matrix, Blade Runner, and others not so well known cyberpunk movies, I’m afraid this will not be so successful as it’s supposed to.
Anyway, I’m very curious about it. How will Molly looks like? Will she be a Trinity more colourful and with blades? And what about the cyberspace, how will it be represented? They will be able to use the word Microsoft to describe the chips that provides knowledge? Will the Ono-Senday CyberSpace be produced by Sony? And last but not least: Will be possible to show all the Neuromancer’s magic in just a single movie? I’d prefer a entire trilogy only for the Neuromancer’s script (not the original Sprawl trilogy).
For now, let’s sit and wait for a confirmation (or not) in the next months and if so, wait for a movie in the next four years.
